Hosting residential writing courses for people in the UK.
Arvon runs residential creative writing courses which aim to challenge, inspire and transform. Founded in 1968, Arvon is a charity that works to ensure anyone can benefit from the transformative power of writing. With residential centres in Devon, Shropshire, Yorkshire and Inverness-shire, its previous tutors have included Willy Russell, Ted Hughes, Carol Ann Duffy and Ian McEwan. There are grants available for those who are not able to afford the full course fees. Alongside its open programme, Arvon runs courses for young people, school groups and other partnerships including charities, socially disadvantaged groups, arts organisations, and community groups.
